Oo ee oo ah ah .... having fun indeed!

We are halfway through our third challenge over at quirky crafts - with our inspired by a song challenge. I have used Skully Poe from Delicious Doodles to create my reminder card.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and layered on card matching the books the head is sitting on. I layered onto a Papermania geometric base card and then added a contrsting sentiment sticker and some red diamantes. My inspiration for this card was 'Witch Doctor' by The Cartoons.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
 ATSM #242 Make your mark
crafty catz #371 More than 2 layers
deep ocean #155 Furry or feathered friends
AYLI - Favourite skin/fur colour combination (I have chosen this one as it is the one I can make look realistic. I still haven't managed to get the tones right for other skin colours yet)
open-minded crafting #17 Mighty men in may
notjustcards #44 One for the boys

I have also got a fish tank update for you @ almost 145 hours:
I have now finished book two of my trilogy, but I have not got book three yet, so I will aim to write the reviews for the first two books, ready for my next two blog posts :)

Golden wedding

Wow the weather has had a right old turn-around hasn't it? Dry and sunny, but still very muggy today. We are away camping for the weekend from tomorrow, so I have got to make sure all the animals are sorted and ready to be left for a little while (I really need to find a house sitter rather than just somebody to pop in and check their food and water).

Anyway, we are onto a new challenge over at Aud Sentiments today, and we have a nice easy one for you this time. The challenge theme is......Anything Goes, just remember to include that all important sentiment! We are sponsored by the lovely Ike's Art for this challenge and I used With This Ring for my creation.
I used a pre-printed monochrome card base and only coloured the ring on the image (using Gold metallic pen). I then layered the image onto Anita's gold card before adding to the card. The sentiment was created on the computer and layered onto the same gold card.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
dragonfly dreams - monochrome

Some more baby pictures :D

And also an update on my height chart now @ 29hrs for the second dino
Thank you for looking,

Snow Time for Creative Moments

Welcome back for my DT post for our new challenge over at Creative Moments. We do not have a twist for this challenge, so just post whatever inspiration you have for us. We are sponsored by
Who are offering 3 images
and Rick St Dennis

Who are offering two images

I chose a Christmas theme using Feeding the Birds from QKR.
I coloured the image with promarkers and then die cut using the large labels nesting dies from X-cut. The holographic paper was in my scrap paper stash, as was the blue I used for the tag. The tag was die-cut using a First Edition die set, as was the inside sentiment tag. I then added ribbon to a square card blank before layering the image, and added a peel-off sentiment to the die-cut tag.
Here is the inside also:
I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges:
ABC christmas - K for Keep it simple
Sweet stampin' christmas - Anything Goes
Alphabet challenge - E for enchanted creatures (the snowman of course)
jingle belles - blue christmas
polkadoodle - use a die cut
winter wonderland - fav Christmas colours
ATSM #242 Make your mark
Die cuttin' Divas #317 All about tags
PFP #395 Tag it

I have some more pictures of the babies on our lake:

ok I might have been on the wrong side of the fence for the last four pictures - but the geese were attacking the baby ducks as the ducklings were just not taking the hint, so I had to go in there and stop the fighting - and it worked lol!

And here is my recent colouring page - finished in watercolour pencils, but no water added.
It is a little pale in the photograph.

Thank you for looking,
Check back tomorrow for another DT post and another new challenge,

Monochromatic Growth for Dad

Well the weather has certainly turned hasn't it? We have had an exceptionally dry April and now it hasn't stopped raining since late last night! The plants and ground really needed it though, and the little babies on the pond appreciated some extra seed tonight as there are few people out and feeding them :D.

I have made a floral card for Father's Day - an unusual combination I know, but I used Dragonflies instead of butterflies, and kept the look very masculine, with seed heads and pointed flowers.

I used a pre-highlighted base card and stamped images from my wildflower stamp set free in a magazine with VersaMark ink and heat embossed in silver. I then layered some pointy die-cut flowers in black and white with a silver gem centre. Finally I added a sentiment in silver on white.
I then added a Dad specific sentiment to the inside of the card.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
Not Just Cards #44 One for the boys
CCEE1719 Wildflowers
ATSM #241 Anything Goes
As you like it - Favourite Die (I have chosen my floral dies because they are very versatile, but there are so many dies that I love using it was a hard choice).
MTTC #345 Masculine
CCM #188 Add a sentiment

I have some pictures from the garden to share with you:
Making the best use of a paddling pool!
My cauldrons are refusing to actually grow!!
 Ladybird lettuce lol
 Pansy's in a bucket
Wormery spud!

I also thought you might like to see my recent finished jigsaw! This one was great fun to do.

I haven't written the book review yet, but it is coming lol.

Gorjuss Mermaid trio

Hi there,

I have a variety of stamps sets that I always want to use but do not actually often get round to using. So I chose a stamp set and challenged myself to make three cards using just the things in my craft room, and the stamp set. This meant not making any new die cuts or embossing any more cards - no making flowers etc. We all have those boxes of die-cuts and drawers full of embellishments, and as I am running out of storage space I decided it was time to use some of these up.

So here are the three cards I created:
For this one I wanted to make a card less than 4x4", which I just about managed. I made a very small base from My Minds Eye Chalkboard paper. I stamped the images to create a scene and coloured with watercolour pencils. I also stamped the image onto a patterned paper I received in an ATC swap and paper pieced the tail.
This card was specifically made for TIOT's little things challenge, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Going Dotty and Addicted to CAS #110 Grunge.

For this second card I once again coloured the image with watercolour pencils after stamping to create a scene. This time I wanted the mermaid to be sitting out of the water so I could use the flower stamp too. I layered this onto a shimmery base card alsong with some patterned papers and a sheer ribbon. I added a seal die-cut I had in my stash and raided my bag of punched shapes to find some dazzling dragonflies too. This card is to be entered into the Cute Card Thursday #477 Dies and punches challenge.

For this final card I again used watercolour pencils but this time I fussy cut two of the stamped images and layered them onto a base with some patterned paper pennants and corners.
And this is the stamp set I used:

I would like to enter these cards into the following challenges:
Scrapbook Stamp Society #116 Mother's Day
ATSM #241 Anything Goes
Mod Squad - Let's colour!

And here is an update of my Row Of Xmas Fairies cross stitch at 25hr 21.

I live on a new estate and we have some public parkland that we have to pay the maintenance cost for. So we went for a walk over there the other day to see what babies there were on the lake (none at all), and found this!
So we are paying for the trees to be laid down to die!!! Grr - I am sure they would be much happy and look much better if they had been put into the ground. What a waste of money.

Anyway thank you for looking at my blog - I will have more baby pictures soon, and a book review too!

Quirky Bluebell Song

Welcome to a lovely bright Sunday! I thought I would quickly pop on and schedule my post before I head out into the garden for the afternoon. It is very quiet here at the moment as hubby is out at work, but it does leave me at a loss for what to do as we would usually go out for a walk on a nice sunny afternoon like this one lol. However, I do have some planting to do, and can pop out to the lakes to see how the little babies are getting along lol.

It is time for a new challenge over at Quirky Crafts. We have two lovely sponsors this time Ike's Art Digital Designs and Delicious Doodles. For my first card I have used an IkesArt image called Blossom. I would normally have used an image from both sponsors but I have had a bit of a busy week, but do check back to see my Delicious Doodles creation on 21st May!

This card was inspired by a song from the 1950's called Blossoms Blues. The song is not about flowers but the title matches the card brilliantly.

I used a metallic green base card and layered an embossed leafy panel and a die-cut shape onto this. I coloured the flowers and then fussy cut them out before layering onto the die-cut shape. I added two sentiment panels and then a blue flower with a glitter centre to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Calender - Flowers
MMM #45 May Flowers
Simon Says Monday - The Great Outdoors
SOS #301 Fussy Cut

I would also like to share an update on my Dino height chart now at 27hrs for the second dino:
And some more pics from the lakes :D

Thanks for looking,

Flying free

Hello there,

I am so glad it is the weekend, but I am sure it will go by far too quickly. Especially as I have a very busy week next week as I am doing overtime, so get fewer days at home! Hubby is working overtime tomorrow, so I am aiming to get some crafting done - although I do have bits to do in the garden and boxes to sort from out of the cupboard..... lol

Anyway I thought I would share with you my latest creation - designed as a divorce card that is a little more subtle.

I used another one of my heavily patterned base cards for this card, rounding the corners before I started. I used some papers free with Quick Cards magazine, and rounded the corner of this too. I used two scalloped die-cuts and a doily to make my layers, keeping the card very pink with a hint of ivory. I used the letters from the papermania Nature collection (Yup I used a C for the second e as there were not enough in the set!) I then used a fancy die-cut butterfly and two simple but stamped die-cut butterflies (these were a sizzix set) and some flower sequins to finish the card.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
inkychicks #82 Butterflies
Kort 'o' mania #175 Lots of layers
diecuttin' divas #315 Sketch

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Hint of Pink

I would also like to share some more pics from the nearby lakes.

Baby coots - daddy would come and get some bread and then swim back to the babies with it lol - didn't like the mealworms though

 Pinkie babies

Robin definitely liked the mealworms though lol.

And here is another fishtank update 144hrs 30
